Presentation

The Journal of Osteology and Biomaterials has as its primary objective the incorporation of the various branches of bone science and biomaterials into a single forum in which to increase knowledge and progress made by research and clinicians and to provide a peer-reviewed forum for the publication of original papers and authoritative reviews dealing with the most important issues facing osteology and biomaterials.

Studies on bone implants and regeneration have undergone a rapid expansion and growth rate in the past years. From basic research to clinical applications there has been a plethora of new publications in biomedical journals covering areas of biology, orthopaedics, biomechanics and biomaterials. JOB explores the knowledge that, in the past, was specific competence of the differenc disciplines: the biology of bone, the healing of bone and the use of biomaterials. Today there are numerous fields of research that study bone biology and biomaterials, each with their own specific point of view. Nonetheless, in the international scientific panorama there are almost no journals that combine these different fields extensively.
The JOB welcomes relevant clinical and research articles to all applications of bone biomaterials including implantable medical-dental devices, tissue engineering and drug delivery systems. Every Associate Editors, will be responsible of the various scientific sections: Biomaterials and Tissue Engineering, Biomechanics, Bone Biology, Bone Pharmacology, Dentistry, Oral Maxillofacial Surgery and Orthopaedics. The International Advisory Board is made up of eminent experts in the field of osteology and biomaterials, biomechanics, orthopaedics, oral-maxillofacial surgeons and dentistry from around the world.
